History:
Formed in 1997 as a trio with original band members, Brendan Patti (Bass), Tom Patti (Guitar) and Adam Nicodemus (Drums) UZO made its mark under the moniker “Uncle Otter” for the first ten years of their existence while playing college venues and jam festivals. 1999 brought a live performance hiatus and Uncle Otter began to work on their sound. Otter put out a studio album called “Catawampus” in 2000. While continuing to work on their sonic platform they shaped the music on 2003’s “The Return.” By 2004 it was time to take their new sound on the road again. Otter began honing their new compositions on the festival circuit which beared the fruit on their next album “Ionic Debris,” in 2006. In late 2007 Mike Pappas (keyboards) was added as a permanent fixture to the lineup prompting the name change to UZO in 2008. Shortly after, a self-titled EP was released in the fall of 2009. As a late night festival favorite, UZO captured their live performance inspired music with 2013’s “The Demotion of Pluto.”
Covid allowed UZO to regroup and focus on some new music. UZO is currently in the studio working on their new album “Quantum Entanglement” due out summer 2022!
